Kuala Lumpur, March 2, 2013 – Since its introduction in 1983, Follow Me has fast become a family household brand with an all-encompassing range of personal care products that are of high quality and affordable value. These products range from hair care to skin care and body care catering for everyone in the family from babies, kids, teenagers to adults.
To commemorate its 30th anniversary this year, Follow Me embarked on a year round campaign, beginning with the “Follow Me Charity Family Day” on 2nd March 2013. As an established brand and now the largest Malaysian homegrown brand, the team at Tohtonku thanked all Malaysians for the support over the past 30 years by aptly giving back to society. “We are thankful to all Malaysians for their continuous loyal support to Follow Me and we take this opportunity to contribute back to society by helping the underprivileged families,” said Mr Jasper Lim, Director of Tohtonku Sdn Bhd.
This was achieved via a collaboration with MyKasih Foundation to reach out to the underprivileged Malaysian families. With this collaboration, Follow Me donated personal care products to 300 families of various races under the MyKasih Foundation.
“Follow Me’s 30th anniversary marks a significant milestone for us and to stay true to our commitment, we will continue to provide Malaysians with quality, trusted and affordable personal care products for many more decades to come, as reflected in our anniversary tagline, “30 years of quality’”, added Mr Lim.
Gracing the charity family day were Yang Berhormat Dato’ Sri Ong Tee Keat, Dr Ngau Boon Keat, Chairman and Co-Founder of MyKasih Foundation and Mr Jasper Lim, Director of Tohtonku Sdn Bhd. Also in attendance were the selected families of the MyKasih Foundation, who were all treated to a fun-filled day of family games, Follow Me product hampers, refreshments and more.
MyKasih Foundation is a charity organisation that aims to help less fortunate Malaysians regardless of race, religion and descent. Capitalising on MyKad technology, integrated programs include food aid, education, financial literacy, health screening and skills training programs. The Foundation depends on donations from the public and corporate bodies, which are directly deposited to the MyKasih Foundation and held in trust. As of January 2013, the MyKasih Foundation is supporting 80,000 families.
At the event, MyKasih Foundation Chairman and Co-Founder Dr Ngau Boon Keat emphasised the importance of corporate support, saying “With the cost of living rising steadily, the situation becomes exceptionally burdensome for underprivileged families residing in urban areas who have to deal with more critical living expenses. MyKasih Foundation’s mission is to help the less fortunate through food aid and education using our propriety MyKad technology to efficiently disburse welfare aid in a cashless, secure, and transparent manner.”
Continuing, he said “During this Chinese New Year season, we are grateful to Tohtonku for stepping forward to bring cheer to low income households under the MyKasih Love My Neighbourhood program. I’d like to congratulate Tohtonku on their 30th Anniversary and I hope their goodwill of corporate giving will extend beyond festivities.”
